Nearly a century ago, this instrument sat on a professional's bench during the golden dawn of American radio. Today it can sit on yours.

This is a genuinely rare three-meter Weston Model 547 Radio Set Tester, built circa 1929 by the Weston Electrical Instrument Corporation of Newark, New Jersey — the company whose name was synonymous with electrical precision for nearly a century. Where lesser testers had a single meter, the 547 commands the bench with three separate Weston movements and their original champagne-toned dial faces, housed in a substantial steel case with a bakelite cover and leather carry handle.

It carries its original brass plate, stamped Model 547, No. 1078.

Restored the right way. This piece received hours of careful, conservation-grade restoration:

  • Cleaned using only museum-grade cleaners and waxes — modern products would have destroyed the original century-old finish
  • The irreplaceable champagne dials gently cleaned and sealed with archival wax to preserve their original character
  • Every knob individually removed, cleaned, lubricated, and refitted for smooth, correct operation
  • Steel case, bakelite cover, and leather handle each treated appropriately to their materials

The result is honest, beautifully preserved age — not an over-restored reproduction.

A one-of-a-kind gift or display piece. Three glass-and-brass meters, warm champagne dials, and the unmistakable patina of real history make this a striking conversation piece on any shelf, desk, mantel, or studio. For the radio collector, the vintage-tech enthusiast, the engineer, or anyone who appreciates beautifully made objects from a vanished era — this is the kind of gift no one else will think to give.

Three-meter Weston testers in this condition rarely surface. When this one sells, it's gone.

Includes a custom-printed provenance document detailing its history and restoration — ready to display or frame alongside the piece and the cover DETACHED so it's easy to display.
